was one of the best juvenile fillies last year and proved that she's trained on by gaining her second Group 1 success, albeit seen to maximum effect, the 1m trip no problem in a race that placed the emphasis firmly on speed, whilst she was well positioned too, prominent throughout, quickening to lead over 1f out and driven out as the second surged through from too far back, getting first run on that one; it's unlikely that circumstances will be so favourable for her next time and she may find life tougher up against older fillies as well in something like the Falmouth next month.

disappointed in the French 1000 Guineas but was progressive before then and immediately got back on track, doing well under circumstances in what was a very muddling race, and she deserves to be rated as the winner; waited with, headway out wide over 1f out, finished with a flourish but had been caught further back than ideal; she's likely to stay 1¼m looking at her pedigree.

is proving consistent at a high level, again running well, her best effort so far on figures in fact; tracked pace, ridden 2f out, had to pick way through inside final 1f, kept on; she's bred to stay further than 1m.

was strong in the betting having created a good impression in 3 starts last year and showed improved form on her return from 9 months off, despite not seeming suited by the muddling nature of the race; led taking a strong hold until J Wonder went on after 2f, driven over 1f out, unable to quicken and, although in a handy position, the relative emphasis on speed wasn't in her favour, bred to stay beyond 1m after all; she remains with potential.

stepped up on comeback run in the Guineas, obviously not right that day, and shaped better than the bare result here too; held up, headway over 2f out, short of room over 1f out, keeping on when hampered well inside final 1f, finished with running left, unsuited by the way the race developed; it's worth remembering that she was a shade unlucky not to beat Rizeena in the Moyglare last year and could still prove the best of these long term.

seems to have run creditably again but, having not settled, she dictated the pace after 2f, headed over 1f out and faltering; she's not seen things out on either try at 1m so far and may prove best at shorter.

who'd had a problem that meant she missed the Guineas last month, is quite closely matched with such as Rizeena on 2-y-o form and is best not judged on this return from 9 months off, disadvantaged by the run of the race, plugging on from the back without getting on terms but not given anything like a hard time; she should stay 1m.

All 12 ran.

Winning Owner: Sheikh Rashid Dalmook Al Maktoum

Time: 1m 40.73s

A muddling, steadily-run Coronation Stakes that is neither form to be rating highly nor taking entirely at face value, the runner-up shaping best, whilst several others weren't seen to best effect in a race that developed into a sprint from over 2f out.

RIZEENA (IRE) was one of the best juvenile fillies last year and proved that she's trained on by gaining her second Group 1 success, albeit seen to maximum effect, the 1m trip no problem in a race that placed the emphasis firmly on speed, whilst she was well positioned too, prominent throughout, quickening to lead over 1f out and driven out as the second surged through from too far back, getting first run on that one; it's unlikely that circumstances will be so favourable for her next time and she may find life tougher up against older fillies as well in something like the Falmouth next month.

LESSTALK IN PARIS (IRE) disappointed in the French 1000 Guineas but was progressive before then and immediately got back on track, doing well under circumstances in what was a very muddling race, and she deserves to be rated as the winner; waited with, headway out wide over 1f out, finished with a flourish but had been caught further back than ideal; she's likely to stay 1¼m looking at her pedigree.

EURO CHARLINE is proving consistent at a high level, again running well, her best effort so far on figures in fact; tracked pace, ridden 2f out, had to pick way through inside final 1f, kept on; she's bred to stay further than 1m.

MY TITANIA (IRE) was strong in the betting having created a good impression in 3 starts last year and showed improved form on her return from 9 months off, despite not seeming suited by the muddling nature of the race; led taking a strong hold until J Wonder went on after 2f, driven over 1f out, unable to quicken and, although in a handy position, the relative emphasis on speed wasn't in her favour, bred to stay beyond 1m after all; she remains with potential.

SANDIVA (IRE) ran creditably but this does seem to be as good as she is and will remain vulnerable in Group 1 company; mid-field, pushed along over 2f out, one paced, never a threat.

TAPESTRY (IRE) stepped up on comeback run in the Guineas, obviously not right that day, and shaped better than the bare result here too; held up, headway over 2f out, short of room over 1f out, keeping on when hampered well inside final 1f, finished with running left, unsuited by the way the race developed; it's worth remembering that she was a shade unlucky not to beat Rizeena in the Moyglare last year and could still prove the best of these long term.

J WONDER (USA) seems to have run creditably again but, having not settled, she dictated the pace after 2f, headed over 1f out and faltering; she's not seen things out on either try at 1m so far and may prove best at shorter.

RADIATOR split a couple of fillies' at York last time that have both run well at this meeting and matched her best form here, keeping on gradually from off the pace in what was a messy contest.

LIGHTNING THUNDER is better judged on her good seconds in both 1000 Guineas, at Newmarket and the Curragh; tracked pace, raced too freely, weakened over 1f out, unsuited by the way the race developed.

KIYOSHI who'd had a problem that meant she missed the Guineas last month, is quite closely matched with such as Rizeena on 2-y-o form and is best not judged on this return from 9 months off, disadvantaged by the run of the race, plugging on from the back without getting on terms but not given anything like a hard time; she should stay 1m.
