is a reliable proposition on all-weather and, rather like at Southwell a couple of outings earlier, was well positioned to strike in a race that tested finishing speed at least as much as stamina; tracked pace, quickened to lead over 1f out, driven out.

hasn't been this low in the weights for a very long time and, back on the all-weather since winning at Southwell 18 months earlier, proved he's still capable of useful form on his day by making it a 1-2 for the yard, splitting a couple ridden handier, too; patiently ridden, good headway over 2f out, challenged approaching final 1f, stayed on.

ran well back at 2m/on all-weather but did have every chance and is seemingly about where he should be in the weights now; in touch, shaken up early in straight, challenged over 1f out, not quicken final 1f.

shaped well on his first start at 2m, going like the best horse at the weights having been left with too much to do the way the race developed and sure to win one of these if kept on the go during the winter; dropped out, headway approaching final 1f, stayed on.

has a fine record at Kempton (first start here in 2025) and wasn't disgraced after 4 months off, just found wanting for a bit of finishing speed the way this developed; mid-field, ridden 2f out, kept on.

A good-quality staying handicap that, as tends to be the case round here, developed into something of a sprint up the home straight, the winner well positioned and the fourth shaping best in attempting to come from last place.
