Timeform logo Analyst's Verdict

HOVE RANGER ran well when third behind a pair of better-positioned rivals in a steadily-run race at Brighton last time and has previously shaped as if this longer trip should suit. He can double his tally at the expense of Uzincso, who arrives in good heart for his in-form yard, with Forca Timao completing the shortlist.

Betting Forecast

5/23.5 Hove Ranger, 3/14 Uzincso, 11/26.5 Forca Timao, 7/18 Boston Run, 14/115 Twilight Glow, 14/115 Bergamo Gold, 16/117 Beta Reader, 22/123 Six Blue

Analyst Verdict 1-2-3
RESURGENCE went close at Navan before things failed to go to plan on handicap debut at Listowel, but he remains relatively unexposed and is taken to make the breakthrough back in maiden company in first-time cheekpieces. State of Wyoming caught the eye staying on at the Curragh a fortnight ago and may progress again in a visor, while Karrygrant sets the standard but looks vulnerable to improvers.

Promising when reaching the frame in maidens at the end of last summer and backed up those runs 12 months on when second of 13 in 1m maiden at Navan last month. Just matched that when sixth on handicap debut last time but clearly of interest with cheekpieces now applied reverting to maiden company. Position Prediction: 1

Well-bred Night of Thunder colt who stepped up on debut effort and caught the eye when 7 lengths sixth of 18 to Come What May in 1¼m maiden at Curragh last time. Open to further improvement and wears first-time visor dropped back in trip. One to consider. Position Prediction: 2

Proving expensive to follow, finishing runner-up 5 times in 10 starts, including last 2, beaten 1¾ lengths in 9-runner maiden at Killarney on latest. First-time blinkers applied and sets the standard. Position Prediction: 3
