Several highly promising fillies on show here and NURSE BARBARA could be the pick of them. She's bred to be smart and may well live up to that billing judged on her impressive debut success at Cork. Raven's Cry has improved with each of her 3 starts and is feared greatly with the promise of even better to come, while cases can also be made for Punita Arora, Blissful and Lady Jane Wilde.
A chance is taken on MACHINE LEARNER, who has shaped very well indeed in 1¾m Sandown handicaps the last twice and this drop back in trip is unlikely to be an issue in what will almost certainly be a strongly-run race. The progressive Kastasa is an obvious danger, albeit she's likely to be plenty short enough in the betting, while Buildmeupbuttercup, Eminence and Trossachs are others to consider.
Hard to get away from MOGUL, who looks a colt with a very bright future after making all in good style at the Curragh last month. Sinawann is preferred to the more exposed Rebel Tale for the forecast.
The fact MOUNT EVEREST is returning from almost a year on the side-lines is slightly concerning, yet his final effort as a juvenile was a narrow defeat at the hands of his high-class stablemate Japan and, with Ryan Moore booked to ride, there is a strong suspicion he still has plenty to offer. Buckhurst is a thriving 3-y-o and rates the chief danger up in trip, ahead of Leo De Fury.
MADHMOON leaves the impression 1¼m could be ideal for him and is taken to notch a first win at the highest level. Magical has no Enable to contend with this time and rates a massive threat, while the other Hamdan Al Maktoum runner Elarqam is enjoying an excellent season and is also likely to make his presence felt.
A good renewal of this Group 2 contest, but unbeaten LANCASTER HOUSE is a confident choice to take this step up in class in his stride after really impressing when completing a quickfire hat-trick at Listowel 15 days ago. 2017 winner Suedois will provide a good test for Aidan O'Brien's fast improving colt and both Jersey Stakes winner Space Traveller and tough 4-y-o Matterhorn are respected too.
LAURENS has achieved more than Hermosa and is an ultra-consistent, tough and likeable filly, so she's going to take all the beating in her bid to follow up last year's success in this race. That pair are expected to dominate proceedings unless either I Can Fly or Skitter Scatter take an unexpected step forward.
The vote goes to CURRENT OPTION, who may well have won had his challenge been delayed a bit longer when second to Jassaar at the Curragh 15 days ago. He enjoys a handy pull at the weights with that rival here. Jassaar merits respect nonetheless, but the selection may have most to fear from Bopedro and Shawaamekh, both of whom look progressive, while Ice Cold Alex also enters calculations.
