DREAMLOPER retains plenty of potential as a lightly-raced 4-y-o and following an eye-catching reappearance at Haydock, there's a strong feeling that her mark is well within range. Lights On beat a couple of these when making the perfect return at Nottingham and is the obvious threat.
TECHNIQUE ran a cracker when narrowly denied in an Epsom listed event against the colts on just her second start so she gets the vote with further improvement likely. The Gosden stable has won 3 of the last 4 runnings so Loving Dream, the mount of Dettori from the yard's pair, rates an obvious danger. Save A Forest looks capable of making an impact in a higher grade and is also shortlisted.
ALBAFLORA quickly progressed into a smart filly last season, having Without A Fight back in third when just denied by St Leger runner-up Berkshire Rocco in a listed race here (14f) in October, and she should have more to offer as a 4-y-o. Alounak was second in the Hardwicke over C&D and would be a big player if coming back to that form on his return/first run since being gelded.
This year's renewal of the Sandown Classic Trial looked a good one so ADAYAR is taken to build on his very encouraging second in that race with the extra yardage here promising to play to his strengths. Aidan O'Brien sent out Anthony Van Dyck to win this in 2019 before going on to Derby glory and his pair Kyprios and Carlisle Bay could give the selection most to do.
A competitive renewal but CAMPROND and Copperless do rather stand out as progressive sorts. The former tanked through the race at Aintree last time only to be worn down late on by Rowland Ward and is narrowly preferred, with that experience of a big-field handicap likely to stand him in good stead. Nicky Henderson's Hooper is also on the shortlist.
It could be worth chancing German-raider AXANA, who looked better than ever when making a winning return in a listed event at Hoppegarten and is already twice a winner at this level. Rockfel-winner Isabella Giles should prove better for her return and is a player despite a 5 lb penalty, while Double Or Bubble is most progressive.
A fiercely competitive Victoria Cup. ACQUITTED really caught the eye when second in Doncaster's Spring Mile and Hugo Palmer's strong traveller looks sure to have a big say over this stiff 7f trip. Sir Mark Prescott's Sunset Breeze went from strength to strength last term and appeals as the sort to go on again so is feared most on his return, with River Nymph and Fox Champion 2 more to consider.
This looks ripe for TURN ON THE CHARM, who left the distinct impression that he would come on for the run when fourth on return at Nottingham last month. James Fanshawe's charge remains with potential and should prove hard to beat with William Buick doing the steering. Love Dreams is preferred to Asad and the talented but unpredictable Eton College for forecast purposes.
LOUGANINI may well have been unsuited by a quick surface on his Pontefract reappearance and is probably worth another chance as his 3-y-o form looks solid. Group One Power rates an obvious danger after his recent Epsom success, while Labeebb was a good third on his sole previous visit here and may strip fitter for his AW reappearance.
