MY FRANKEL may well prove better than a handicapper so, despite a 7 lb rise for his cosy defeat of Taqareer at Kempton last time, he's fancied to go in again at the likely expense of Ilaraab, who was ultra-progressive last year. Throne Hall is another one to consider.
An ultra-competitive sprint handicap with a host in with chances. Preference is for SOLDIER'S MINUTE, who landed this contest back in 2019 and gets the vote to repeat that feat having dropped to his last winning mark of 98. He's gone well fresh in the past and should go close granted a bit of luck in running. Bielsa, Woven, Mr Lupton and Staxton are a handful of others worth considering.
Most of these have a lot to prove with the glaring exception of MON FRERE, who was impressive in novice company at Taunton 3 weeks ago and retains plenty of potential now handicapping. Black Mischief has a 2-year absence to overcome, but he's in very capable hands and the market may tell a tale.
ART POWER, a rapid improver last season, potentially has even bigger performances in his locker in 2021, particularly if settling down a bit, so he makes the most appeal. Starman seemed unsuited by conditions in the Champions Sprint at Ascot on his final outing and remains with potential, as do Molatham and Nahaarr.
A feature of the superbly-bred NOON STAR's victories has been her strength at the finish and she is taken to enhance her Oaks credentials with victory in this trial. While not achieving as much in form terms, Teona is a smashing prospect and is a shorter price for Epsom glory, so she commands the utmost respect, along with Mystery Angel.
Plenty with claims here, including NORTHERN EXPRESS, who figures off a handy mark and should come on from his pleasing Beverley reappearance. Rifleman and Bowman rate the principal dangers.
