1 - ARIZONA
Coventry winner at Royal Ascot but not in the same form when fourth to Earthlight in Prix Morny on softer ground at Deauville next time, and blown away by Pinatubo at the Curragh since.
2 - IFFRAAZ
Fairly useful winner but out of his depth here.
3 - MONARCH OF EGYPT
Made a taking winning debut, and found only Siskin too good in Railway Stakes and Phoenix Stakes (both at the Curragh) next 2 starts. Needs to shrug off a disappointing run in Middle Park, however.
4 - MYSTERY POWER
Winner of Group 2 Superlative at Newmarket (July Course) on second start. Well held in Vintage at Goodwood since but back on track when runner-up in Mill Reef at Newbury. Plenty to find here, though.
5 - PINATUBO
Unbeaten in 5 starts, confirming himself one of the best 2-y-o performers for many a year when winning National Stakes at the Curragh by 9 lengths. An exceptional talent who is impossible to oppose.
PINATUBO is in a different league to his rivals in the (Group 1) National Stakes at @curraghrace, scoring by a huge 9 lengths under William Buick!— Timeform Live (@TimeformLive) September 15, 2019
A monster performance from Charlie Appleby's star 2-y-o!🏇
6 - POSITIVE
Looked a good prospect when winning on debut and confirmed himself smart when just holding on in Solario Stakes at Sandown. However, made no impression on Pinatubo in Vintage at Goodwood inbetween.
Some finish at @Sandownpark, as POSITIVE (4/5) battles back to just get back up right on the line to take the (Group 3) Solario Stakes, for Clive Cox and Adam Kirby!🏇— Timeform Live (@TimeformLive) August 31, 2019
7 - ROYAL COMMANDO
Built on debut promise when landing a 4-runner Doncaster maiden but limitations exposed in Group 2 company since.
8 - WICHITA
Won of 2 of his 3 starts, proving himself most progressive when taking Group 3 over C&D by 7 lengths, storming clear in a good time. Rates the main threat to Pinatubo. Supplemented on Monday.
WICHITA looks destined to mix it at the highest level, claiming success in the (Group 3) Tattersalls Stakes at @NewmarketRace with an excellent effort, for Ryan Moore and Aidan O'Brien!— Timeform Live (@TimeformLive) September 26, 2019
One for the Tracker, surely?🏇🤔
Progressed again to open account in maiden at Naas, and might have found next run coming too soon. Not disgraced in Royal Lodge here 2 weeks ago but has a mountain to climb at this level.
Impossible to oppose PINATUBO, who is already as short as even money for the 2000 Guineas, and has looked one of the best juveniles in modern times. Wichita had 7 lengths in hand when landing the Tattersall Stakes over C&D and is a clear next best.
