Well supported in the market, Dancing Star went off a 7-2 fancy for the Doncaster Group 3 event, and quickened up best when asked to do so by Oisin Murphy, before eventually scoring with a little to spare against his rivals.
Speaking after the race, Oisin Murphy mentioned: "Winning Group races is important for these fillies, and at least she's got one now,"
"She's very tough and has plenty of talent.
"Andrew said I could make the running if needs be, but I wanted to give her something to aim at."
