back on all-weather after 7 weeks off, and for first time since wide-margin win at Chelmsford in June, and produced a career-best effort to defy topweight; mid-field, went prominent 3f out, shaken up soon after, stayed on to lead final 100 yds.
22 Aug 19 Yor C2 Hcap 16/18 14 Turf 94 7.9f Gd/Frm (t) Oisin Murphy 14/115 18.71 -/18.5 3 100.0 65 69 69
had shaped as if on the way back at Ascot but failed to build on that promise in no uncertain terms; mid-division, effort under 3f out, weakened.
10 Aug 19 Asc C2 Hcap (0-100) 6/10 4.20 Turf 95 8f Gd/Frm (t) Tadhg O'Shea 5/16 7.6 -/4.8 2 97.8 91 95+ 95+
shaped better than the distance beaten suggests, doing enough to show he's back in form; pressed leader, went on 2f out, joined soon after, headed 1f out, no extra, ridden too aggressively; he's back down to his last winning mark.
20 Jul 19 Nmj C2 Hcap (0-105) 6/9 8 Turf 96 8f Gd/Frm (t) Hayley Turner 10/111 16.72 -/15.5 2f 100.1 82 87 87
underperformed and is proving inconsistent this year; close up, upsides halfway, headed under 2f out, weakened.
6 Jul 19 San C2 Hcap 6/13 3.10 Turf 97 8f Gd/Frm (t) Kerrin McEvoy 8/19 9.6 -/8.2 2 103.9 80 100 100
ran respectably, back up in the weights after a win last time when everything went his way; led 1f, remained prominent, ridden over 2f out, no extra final 1f.
20 Jun 19 ChC C3 Hcap (0-95) 1/8 5.00 AW 95 8f Fast (t) Daniel Muscutt 6/17 7.6 5.1/- 1 102.1 102 p107 p107
back on last winning mark and under a change of tactics, produced a career best from out of the blue to get off the mark for the season, helped by having the run of things but dominant all the same; dictated, quickened over 2f out, went clear over 1f out, eased near finish, won easily; he's twice won when ridden from the front (3 attempts in total), and is clearly well suited by such tactics.

wasn't beaten as far as on reappearance but was still well below form; mid-field, effort over 2f out, weakened.
11 May 19 Asc C2 Hcap 25/26 28 Turf 98 7f Good (t) Charles Bishop 40/141 90.17 -/44 2F 32 27 27
after 7 months off, shaped as if amiss; in touch, ridden over 2f out, stopped quickly.

shouldn't be judged on this, chiefly as he raced in the unfavoured group (second there for a long way), besides which he's only ever faced up to 1m previously.
11 Aug 18 Asc C2 Hcap (0-100) 1/10 0.50 Turf 95 8f Gd/Frm (t) Hayley Turner 7/24.5jf 5.2 6.6/- 2k 108.6 68 104 104
back up to his ideal trip, proved at least as good as ever to gain his second win of the campaign; chased leader, loomed up 2f out, led over 1f out, kept on; won't go up much for this, but was better placed than most and the percentage call is that he'll struggle to follow up.
28 Jul 18 Asc C2 Hcap 4/27 1.00 Turf 94 7f Gd/Frm (t) Harry Bentley 16/117 27 -/9 3r 94 99 99
hasn't put a foot wrong all year, his place now fixed at the handicapping tob table, and he's possibly that bit better at 1m, the reason he never looked like winning, but finding all the while (clear passage from mid-field), his attitude an asset.
7 Jul 18 San C2 Hcap 3/15 2.75 Turf 94 8f Gd/Frm (t) Fran Berry 8/19 10.8 -/6.4 4 100.5 89 101 101
came into the race in good form and ran up to his best, in a stronger race off a higher mark, needing no excuses; held up, headway 2f out, chased leaders over 1f out, kept on, made little impression.
16 Jun 18 San C2 Hcap (0-100) 1/11 1.25 Turf 90 8f Good (t) Fran Berry 4/15 5.51 6.4/- 2kr 105.4 85 98 98
after just 3 days off, went one better than last time, well positioned but clearly better than ever this year; prominent, took keen hold, led on bridle 2f out, ridden soon after, kept on well final 1f, pushed out; even a penalty wouldn't get him in the Royal Hunt Cup, while he'd be reassessed before the Bunbury Cup, his other early-closing entry.
13 Jun 18 ChC C2 Hcap (0-105) 2/15 1.00 AW 90 8f Std (t) Harry Bentley 7/24.5f 7 -/2.22 2r 97.8 94 p105 p105
is running consistently well, this a career-best effort in defeat, finding only a progressive rival too good, and the point to focus on is his decisive beating of the rest; chased leaders, not clear run early in straight, switched over 1f out, second final 1f, kept on well without being a match for the winner; the Bunbury Cup is an interesting option for him as a strongly-run 7f is fine for him and he's won twice at Newmarket, albeit on the Rowley Mile.
12 May 18 Asc C2 Hcap 5/27 1.00 Turf 90 7f Gd/Frm (t) Martin Dwyer 25/126 53.49 -/13.5 3 91 96 96
back on turf, ran at least as well as last time in this stronger contest, his trainer continuing to eke progress out of him bit by bit; mid-field, shaken up 2f out, kept on.
26 Apr 18 ChC C3 Hcap (0-95) 3/8 0.25 AW 89 7f Std (t) Harry Bentley 7/18 9.2 -/6 4pr 100.3 90 p96 p96
back down in trip/back on all-weather after 6 months off, proved at least as good as ever; raced off the pace, took strong hold, effort home turn, kept on well, nearest at the finish; building up a good record since joining this yard and one to be interested in.

after 5 weeks off, wasted no time proving himself still in good form, running as well as ever to gain first handicap success from sliding mark; close up, raced freely, shaken up over 2f out, stayed on to lead final 1f; better placed than most but still hasn't had much racing, especially for this yard, and has run well both tries on all-weather.

shaped better than the bare result; mid-division, keeping on when denied a run over 1f out, finished with running left.
15 Aug 17 ChC C3 Hcap (0-90) 3/12 3.70 AW 86 7f Std (t) Daniel Tudhope 5/16 6.24 -/3.7 3 101.5 76 p94 p94
on first outing since leaving Hugo Palmer for 100,000 gns, again ran respectably without having any obvious excuses; mid-division, ridden home turn, challenged over 1f out, one paced.

ran respectably in a less-competitive affair but doesn't look that well treated; mid-field, late headway.

ran respectably without being any better than the bare result with regards those he raced with in the big group; raced stand side, mid-division, settled better than last time, not quicken 2f out, plugged on.
6 May 17 Nmr C2 Hcap (0-105) 8/10 14.5 Turf 92 8f Gd/Frm (t) Josephine Gordon 15/28.5 14.34 -/10.5 2Pf 100.3 62 68 68
was well below best over 1f longer trip, lit up early on and giving himself no chance of running to form; prominent, pulled hard, ridden 3f out, weakened over 2f out.
22 Apr 17 Nwb C1 Group 3 5/10 8.5 Turf G3 7f Gd/Frm (t) Josephine Gordon 20/121 27.34 -/7.2 1 103.3 95 93+ 93+
in first-time tongue strap after 7 months off, was stepping up from maiden company and, although unable to improve immediately, shaped with some encouragement for this sort of level, likely to be better for the run; led, ridden over 2f out, headed soon after, weakened final 1f; remains with potential.

quicker turnaround, a rush to complete the first part of his training and get a win under his belt, perhaps still one eye on pitching him in deep before the season's end (still entered in Dewhurst), unjustifiable on what he's done so far, but at the least he'll make a useful 3-y-o; no-nonsense ride, forward from the start, more towards the far rail than the main body of the field, needed a full drive to make sure over the above-average newcomer in second but always holding him.
14 Sep 16 Yar C4 Mdn Stks 3/9 1.25 Turf M 7f Good Jim Crowley 8/111.72f 1.77 -/1.31 3K 106.3 53 80+ 80+
was relatively easy to back and could only match debut form, again going through the race in good style but not quite so strong in the finish, still likely to do better at some stage though; raced wide, mid-field, travelled strongly, headway 2f out, not quicken.
19 Aug 16 Yor C2 Mdn Stks 3/13 3.45 Turf M 7f Gd/Frm Pat Smullen 3/14 4.7 -/1.5 3K 103.1 82 77+ 77+
(€120,000Y, 320,000 2-y-o: by Invincible Spirit: fourth foal: closely related to useful 2-y-o 7f winner Strong Chemistry (by Oasis Dream) and half-brother to 9.5f (including at 2 yrs) winner Le Juge (by Dansili): dam, 7f/1m winner, half-sister to smart 5f winner Dietrich) clearly has a reputation built on something more than his expensive sales price, Group 1 entered and prominent in the betting for this, duly shaped well, keen to begin with but still going strongly when disputing the lead 2f out, excusably unable to live with the match-sharp winner in the final 1f, lost second only late on to one from much further back; a maiden/novice should be a formality with the improvement that's likely.
