Flat: well-made gelding: useful handicapper: third at Meydan (2 lengths behind Baroot) in January: ran poorly at Lingfield last time: left Saeed bin Suroor after fourth (2019) start: stays 1m: acts on polytrack, soft and good to firm going: has worn cheekpieces: sometimes slowly away, often races towards rear.

back down in trip, was well held; slowly into stride, always behind; something to prove at present.

without the headgear on first outing since leaving Saeed Bin Suroor after 7 months off, offered something to work on; steadied at the start, in rear, kept on from 2f out for hands-and-heels ride, left with too much to do; overall record suggests he's no banker to build on this, though.

back on turf, ran below form; dwelt, mid-division, ridden over 2f out, never involved.

isn't bred for this surface and resented the whole experience from the off; always behind.

low mileage for a 6-y-o, not seen in 2018 after the Victoria Cup, and showed here that all of his powers are intact, staying on from mid-field, reminding that 1m suits him as well as 7f.

12 May 18 Asc C2 Hcap 15/27 4.74 Turf 103 7f Gd/Frm Silvestre De Sousa 8/19 11 -/10 3 98 98 102
back on turf, wasn't in the same form as last time, this race run in very different fashion, bit the merit of that performance was upheld by Sea Fox in third; mid-field, ridden over 2f out, one paced.
14 Apr 18 Lin C3 Hcap (0-95) 1/8 2.25 AW 96 7f Std William Cox (5) 13/82.62f 2.72 3.5/- 3k 107.8 102 p113+ p117+
without the headgear this time, proved better than ever after 14 months off, this his first start in Britain since 2016; mid-field, went with zest, shaken up 2f out, quickened to lead final 1f for hands-and heels ride, impressive; can't have been the easiest to train but will remain of plenty of interest provided he comes out of this okay, looking worth his place in a higher grade.

fared no better; led, headed early in straight, weakened.
12 Jan 17 Mey Hcap 15/16 12.5 Turf 102 8f Good (s) Pat Cosgrave 9/2cf 8.27 -/5 3 98.8 80 84
after just 7 days off, proved to be a disappointment, suffering some interference but going backwards at the time; mid-division, shaken up 2f out, weakening when hampered over 1f out.
5 Jan 17 Mey Listed 6/12 6 Turf L 9f Good (s) Pat Cosgrave 5/1 6.2 -/5.8 2P 105.0 102 106
was too free in first-time cheekpieces, not getting home over this extra 1f as a result; close up, refused to settle, shaken up early in straight, weakened last ½f; he's lightly-raced still and may yet have a bigger effort in him, the fact connections chose this instead of going for a handicap saying plenty.

22 Oct 16 Don C3 Stks 4/8 3.45 Turf W 7f Gd/Frm Andrea Atzeni 6/17 8.31 -/3 3 98.5 83 101 105
ran creditably and will probably be better off back at 1m, lacking the pace to put in a challenge; mid-division, ridden 3f out, not quicken, kept on final 1f.
4 Sep 16 Vel Group 2 2/6 0.20 Turf G2 8f Good Mickael Barzalona 5/100f -/ 2 108 112
showed further improvement; chased leaders, shaken up, led 1f out, ridden when hung left 1f out (under right hand riding), headed last 30 yds.

on firmer ground than previously, ran well off a mark 9 lb higher than last time, shaping a bit better than the bare result, getting going fully only after the winner had gone; held up, travelled well, effort over 1f out, wandered, kept on inside final 1f, took second close home; will stay beyond 1m; remains open to improvement and will continue to be of interest.

making handicap debut, on softer ground than previously, took advantage of a generous opening mark, not needing to improve significantly, but promising plenty more to come; raced near side, held up, travelled well, smooth headway 3f out, led inside final 1f, shaken up, kept on, won readily; sure to go well again.

came out on top over 2f longer trip, overcoming trouble in running and doing well under the circumstances, looking a better winner than the bare margin suggests; in touch, travelled smoothly, not clear run over 1f out, switched, carried head a bit awkwardly but stayed on for hands-and-heels ride to lead well inside final 1f, won readily; will go on improving.

was again sent off a short price and showed a lot more of what he's about on this return from 8 months off (never involved after poor start on debut), running green under pressure but finishing to really good effect and looking sure to stay further; should learn plenty from this and will go on improving.
