ran poorly, too free to do himself any justice; soon led, took strong hold, headed over 2f out, weakened.
25 May 19 Hay C3 Hcap (0-95) 1/4 0.10 Turf 93 10.5f Gd/Frm (s) Richard Kingscote 11/102.1f 2.26 500/- 1 96.7 78 103 110
capitalised on the drop in grade but made hard work of landing the odds, a loss of focus like this in anything stronger sure to have done for him; forced pace, headed when driven 3f out, lost ground, looked held under 2f out, rallied, got gap inside final 1f, led near finish.
10 May 19 Chs C2 Hcap (0-105) 7/10 27.5 Turf 96 10.3f Soft (s) Alistair Rawlinson 14/115 18 -/14 2 92.6 57 45+ 52+
looked to have been teed up for this meeting, the headgear back on after an eye-catching reappearance, but he can have this run ignored, no chance from his draw/track position, while he's unproven on ground anything like this testing; chased leaders 3-wide, pushed along 4f out, soon beaten.
27 Apr 19 Don C3 Hcap (0-95) 6/14 9 Turf 97 10.2f Good Richard Kingscote 8/19 9.8 -/7.2 3 102.0 97 92+ 99+
after 6 months off, was ridden with an eye on the future, connections maybe having Chester in mind next month; mid-field, headway over 2f out, effort flattened out, not unduly punished.

has got into the bad habit of racing freely, no sign of it before but draining him the last twice, upsides 3f out here.
13 Oct 18 Yor C2 Hcap (0-110) 7/14 4.22 Turf 98 10.3f Soft Richard Kingscote 7/18 8.37 -/4.9 2p 101.4 105 97 104
took a strong hold back down in trip and wasn't disgraced on the softest ground he's tackled, probably just summed up by his mark after Haydock win (also claimer ridden that day); chased leader, shaken up over 3f out, faded final 1f as earlier exertions told.
29 Sep 18 Hay C3 Hcap (0-95) 1/7 1.25 Turf 95 11.8f Gd/Frm Paddy Pilley (3) 9/25.5 6.8 19/- 2r 99.4 103 103 110
was on the same mark as last time in a less competitive race than most he's contested this term and, up in trip and with a 3-lb claimer up, proved at least as good as ever for a first handicap success, appreciating the extra distance; tracked pace, led under pressure over 1f out, kept on well.
13 Sep 18 Don C2 Hcap (0-105) 2/10 0.75 Turf 95 10.2f Gd/Frm (s) David Probert 8/19 12.5 -/3.2 1kr 101.9 100 103+ 110+
back up in trip, produced his best effort to date taking on older horses for the first time having run in some of the hottest 3-y-o mile handicaps of the season, proving his stamina for this trip without doubt and he probably would have won had he been ridden with a touch more restraint/not pressed on quite so soon; disputed lead and soon clear of rest, took keen hold early, settled just off leader halfway, led on bridle under 3f out and kicked on, joined inside final 1f, edged left but battled well to see off initial challenger on nod but collared by final challenger close home; there's more to come from him at this trip.
24 Aug 18 Yor C2 Hcap (0-105) 10/17 7 Turf 97 7.9f Gd/Frm (s) Richard Kingscote 16/117 23.91 -/10 2 103.4 97 96 103
ran respectably in first-time cheekpieces after 9 weeks off; prominent, outpaced when short of room 2f out, stayed on again final 1f, found the test inadequate.

turned in a rather lacklustre effort, kept to 1m, ready for a return to further; mid-division, labouring 3f out.
26 May 18 Hay C2 Hcap 5/15 4.75 Turf 101 8.2f Gd/Frm Richard Kingscote 7/18 8.29 -/5.6 1 102.6 108 100 107
back down in trip, ran best race; led, pushed along over 3f out, headed under 3f out, kept on; needs respite from the assessor, but is probably worth another try at 1¼m.
10 May 18 Chs C1 Listed 5/7 7 Turf L 10.3f Good Richard Kingscote 10/111 13.5 -/11 4 98.4 76 91+ 98+
reappearance form was franked later on this card and he's better judged on that effort for the time being, caught wide throughout here and dropping away in the straight, that finish best put down to his passage through the race rather than longer trip for the time being (should stay this far).
18 Apr 18 Nmr C1 Hcap 2/10 3.00 Turf 101 7f Good Richard Kingscote 9/110 11.62 -/4.6 3sr 98.8 95 100+ 107+
is less exposed than most of these and shaped quite well after 9 months off, running to a useful level while giving the impression there will be more to come from him at the season progresses; dwelt, mid-field, pushed along over 3f out, ran on late; he's likely to stay 1m if asked.

was straight up in grade after debut win 7 weeks ago and showed some improvement without quite being up to the task, beaten on merit; close up, ridden over 2f out, every chance over 1f out, no extra inside final 1f.

(65,000Y: by Helmet: half-brother to numerous winners, including useful winner up to 1m Crowley's Law (2-y-o 7.4f winner, by Dubawi) and useful 8.3f-9.7f winner Everybody Knows (by King's Best): dam lightly raced) is bred to be useful and this winning start suggests he won't be long in reaching that standard of form, clued up but still creating a good impression; helped force pace, went on over 2f out, tackled entering final 1f, responded well and showed a good attitude; he'll be suited by 7f and is open to improvement.
