16:00 Leopardstown: Timeform preview and free Race Pass

The 16:00 at Leopardstown on Sunday is available as a free Race Pass, which means logged-in customers can view all our premium comments and ratings.

The pick of the action on Sunday is the €45,000 listed handicap chase (16:00) at Leopardstown and Timeform's weight-adjusted ratings for the 11-runner contest are headed by Now Where Or When (159?) who could be very well treated based on the form he showed when a close-up third behind Kemboy in the Grade 3 Bobbyjo Chase at Fairyhouse a year ago.

Now Where Or When was a big price in that event but he excelled himself to get to within a length and a half of the winner, with subsequent Grand National runner-up Vanillier splitting the pair. That was a marked improvement on what Now Where Or When had previously shown, but his effort was backed up by the clock and if you take that Fairyhouse form literally he could be a long way ahead of his mark of 132. He failed to stay in an attritional edition of the Irish Grand National on his only subsequent start last season, while his comeback effort in the Fortria Chase over two miles at Navan in November, when the headgear was left off, can also be overlooked and this is a more suitable opportunity.

Genois (151x) has jumping frailties - as denoted by the x attached to his rating - but he showed his wellbeing when runner-up in a cross-country chase at Punchestown last month, running right up to his best. If he can keep his jumping together back over these conventional fences then he is likely to prove a threat.

Digby (154) needs to bounce back from a disappointing display in a beginners' chase at Navan in January but he had made a promising start over fences prior to that, finishing runner-up at Fairyhouse and Thurles, bumping into good prospects on both occasions. An opening chase mark of 128 looks fair and he should not be underestimated.

Snake Oil (152) is another to consider as he has run creditably to hit the frame on his last couple of starts at around two miles and was beaten little more than a length and a half in fourth at Naas in January. He remains with relatively few miles on the clock over fences and is unexposed over this sort of trip.

Timeform's Analyst Verdict:

NOW WHERE OR WHEN has had excuses since an excellent third in a Grade 3 at Fairyhouse a year ago so could be worth chancing off a tempting mark back in a handicap. Genois and Digby head the dangers.

Timeform's Weight-adjusted ratings:

159? Now Where Or When
154 Digby
152 Snake Oil
151 The Abbey
151x Genois
150? The Little Yank
147 Grandero Bello
147 Battle of Mirbat
146+ Birchdale
144 Drumbear
141x Brideswell Lad
