Timeform's weight-adjusted ratings for this Grade 2 mares' novice chase (13:45) are headed by the Gordon Elliott-trained Harmonya Maker (160p), who returned from seven months off with a dominant victory on her chasing debut at Gowran Park a few weeks ago, making all to win unchallenged by 11 lengths. A useful novice hurdler last season, Harmonya Maker bettered that form right away at Gowran and she seems sure to progress and win more races for Elliott, who has won this contest with a couple of smart sorts in recent years, namely Shattered Love (2017) and Mount Ida (2020).
Willie Mullins has dominated this Grade 2 otherwise and he saddles three runners as he seeks his sixth success in the race since 2014. Hauturiere (154p) and Heia (146+) both have the benefit of previous experience over fences, none more so than the latter who was having her fourth run in this sphere when finished a well-beaten second in a mares' event at Clonmel last time. She shaped better than the bare result on that occasion, just getting tired in very testing conditions having gone with bags of enthusiasm. The return to two miles today is likely to be in her favour, though even her best form is no match for what Hauturiere showed when making a successful chasing debut at Killarney back in May. That was a useful performance to win by 10 lengths and Hauturiere is likely to progress further with that experience under her belt.
However, it could be that Zenta emerges as the pick of the Mullins trio on her chasing debut, receiving 6 lb from her four rivals as the sole four-year-old in the line-up. She achieved a useful level of form in three starts in juvenile hurdles for Mullins earlier this year, notably winning a Grade 3 at Fairyhouse and a Grade 1 at Aintree either side of finishing third in the Triumph Hurdle. That was her best effort at the Cheltenham Festival, keeping on well to pass the post only two and a half lengths behind Lossiemouth, and she has the ability to play a leading role here if taking to chasing at the first attempt for Mullins, who has the 'Hot Trainer' Flag to denote that his yard is in top form.
The field is completed by Con O'Keeffe's Silent Approach (138p), who didn't need to improve on her fair hurdling form to make a successful chasing debut at Gowran Park last month, jumping well in the main on her way to a comfortable six-and-a-half-length victory. That form is some way below what is likely to be required here, but she is at least open to improvement.
Timeform Analyst's Verdict:
Willie Mullins has an excellent record in this Grade 2 event and his smart hurdler Zenta is fancied to start her life over fences in style. Harmonya Maker impressed when going in at the first time of asking in a Gowran novice chase last month and should ensure the selection doesn't have things all her own way though. Another Mullins inmate Hauturiere appeals as the pick of the rest for minor honours.
