Sir Lowry's Pass (Timeform rating 107p)

Third, 1¼m handicap, Redcar, Monday 26 May

Sir Lowry's Pass had to settle for minor honours in the Zetland Gold Cup but he wasn't seen to best effect attempting to come from further back than the pair who beat him in a race where it paid to be prominent. Sir Lowry's Pass was unable to get on terms with a couple of progressive and prolific winners, but he was nicely on top of the rest, pulling three lengths clear of the third. He remains open to further improvement after only three starts in handicap company and still has the option of stepping up to a mile and a half.

Moutai (80p)

Third, 1m handicap, Hamilton, Wednesday 28 May

Moutai was unable to reward support on his handicap debut but he stepped forward on his previous efforts to finish third and remains likely to do better. Moutai disputed the lead but probably would have benefited from helping to set a stronger gallop given how he stuck to his task after he was headed inside the final couple of furlongs. As a tall, scopey sort whose smart half-sister proved better than ever at four, Moutai should carry on progressing and is up to winning a similar event, either at this trip or beyond.

Arnaz (83)

Third, 6f handicap, Yarmouth, Thursday 29 May

Arnaz was bitterly disappointing on his penultimate start at Ascot when failing to beat a rival, but he quickly got back on track at Yarmouth and looked unlucky not to win. In stark contrast to at Ascot where he was never travelling well, Arnaz went like the best horse at the weights at Yarmouth but was short of room inside the final couple of furlongs in a messy race. He kept on well between horses close home to miss out by only a head and a neck and he can raise his game granted better luck in running. He had shaped well when runner-up on his reappearance at Haydock and still has relatively few miles on the clock by the standards of sprint handicappers.
