Comfort Zone (Timeform rating: 97)
Runner-up, 13f handicap, Leopardstown, Saturday 9 September
Comfort Zone opened his account on the Flat in a mile and a half maiden at Roscommon last year and has since developed into a useful hurdler, notably winning the Grade 2 Finale Juvenile Hurdle at Chepstow and Grade 2 Triumph Hurdle Trial (Finesse) at Cheltenham. He missed the Cheltenham Festival last season but he shaped particularly well back on the Flat after seven months off, settled in midfield and making headway entering the straight, having to switch for a run in the final furlong and staying on all the way to the line. Comfort Zone conceded first run on the winner but left the impression he is up to winning more races in this sphere and he holds an entry in the Irish Cesarewitch at the end of this month.
Jackie Oh (Timeform rating: 108)
Runner-up, 1m2f Blandford Stakes, Curragh, Sunday 10 September
Jackie Oh only made her debut in March, making a winning start over a mile at Naas, and she has performed with credit in tougher races since, not disgraced when finishing fifth in the Irish 1000 Guineas. She quickly put a disappointing run in the Sandringham behind her when recording a first pattern success over nine furlongs at Gowran in July and ran at least as well in defeat when runner-up over a mile and a quarter in the Blandford Stakes on Sunday. Jackie Oh wasn't as well placed as the winner, forced to concede first run after meeting trouble, but finished her race well, and she remains a horse to be interested in at this level, though she does hold an entry in the Group 1 Fillies & Mares Stakes on Champions Day at Ascot next month.
