Grand National Result 2018: Tiger Roll wins in dramatic fashion
Ridden by Davy Russell, the oldest jockey in the race, Tiger Roll came out on top in a photo finish with Pleasant Company, trained by Elliott's Irish rival Willie Mullins.
25/1 shot Pleasant Company jumped boldly in front for much of the final circuit but Tiger Roll came to take his measure two out. However, with Tiger Roll having gone clear in the run-in, Pleasant Company rallied strongly from the elbow to force a photo.
Tiger Roll was a second winner for his trainer after Silver Birch in 2007, and gave owners Gigginstown House Stud their second win in three years after Rule The World's success in 2016.
The well-backed I Just Know made the early running until coming to grief at Becher's where the winner's stable-companion Ucello Conti took up the running until Pleasant Company went on running down to Becher's for the second time.
Irish-trained horses dominated the finish, with Elliott having the third home Bless The Wings (40/1) and Anibale Fly (10/1) completing the frame for Tony Martin.
Milansbar, partnered by Bryony Frost, was next home in fifth.
