Probably the deepest-ever edition of the David Nicholson, featuring as it did 2 winners of the Champion Hurdle rerouted to avoid Constitution Hill, with last season's winners of this and the Dawn Run among other smart mares in the field; the run of the race wasn't entirely satisfactory, the steady pace set by the second clearly counting against a couple, while both Epatante and Marie's Rock were flat-out disappointing, but that doesn't detract from Honeysuckle, who cemented her status among Festival greats.
