An uncharacteristically steady pace didn't stop the cream rising to the top, the winner plotted up for this since early-winter, the second and third both having won competitive handicaps at the Dublin Racing Festival, and the fourth successful in a Grade 2 on his previous start; nothing threatened from off the pace and there were no major eye-catchers in behind, though Canardier might've made the frame but for falling at the last; there was yet another standing start, far from ideal in such a big field, though fortunately it wasn't especially ragged as these things go.
