A potentially muddling maiden, as the pace was possibly overly strong, the fairly useful market leaders swallowed up late. AUTUMN HARVEST looked more the horse he had in bumpers as he opened his account on the Flat at the second attempt, though he's more likely to go backwards than build on this, proving a handful when losing his way over hurdles and following suit here, unseating and running loose after going to post early, also looking less than keen under pressure for all he responded. RUUD REVENGE (USA) underlined his improvement from 2 yrs, advancing again with conditions making for an even stiffer test, battling hard after coming off the bridle 5f out, shaping as though he'll stay beyond 12f for all he couldn't hold the winner off. SHEMOLI did best of those who'd forced it, seeing off his market rival, emerging with some credit, though previous efforts undoubtedly give a better guide to him. COILED SPRING may benefit from a test at 10f, but 12f could prove beyond his best judged on pedigree, supporting that view as he gave best in the last 2f, though looking awkward again, too. TAARAB has been a disappointment in 2 starts this year, the longer trip not the sole issue here. JENNY POTTS could be the type to do well in handicaps, promising over hurdles and still to be seen to best effect after 3 qualifying runs on the Flat, raced at 7f previously, and threatening to do a deal better turning in here; 10f may suit her on this evidence but she is bred to stay 12f. LADY ANNE NEVILL has looked extremely limited in bumpers/over hurdles, too. EBORBRAV's sole piece of form almost certainly flatters him. JOHNNY ROCKET (IRE)'s Newcastle form isn't solid given the gallop that day, though he's surely better than this, always behind. HARVEST SONG (IRE) has shown nothing in 2 starts to date, under pressure practically throughout on his return (had been gelded).
