A surprise result on the face of it with a 50-1 winner, but a high standard for a Group 3 all the same, the form picks on their game in filling the places, and Charlie Farnsbarns' performance isn't without foundation; Tranquil Tiger pushed on from the front, making for a fair test. CHARLIE FARNSBARNS (IRE) has had little run at racing since second to Authorized in the Racing Post Trophy at 2 yrs but is evidently none the worse for his problems, showing promise in the spring and producing a smart performance here, a couple of runs in the last fortnight seemingly putting him just right, and he was full value for his win, responding gradually for pressure to assert just inside the last, continuing to edge left after having to work that way for room; if anything, a return to 10f should be in his favour, and this warrants a crack at something better still if he continues to stand training, be it taken abroad this autumn or saved for next year. BANKABLE (IRE) continues to find a pattern-race success elusive, but he again struck as the likeliest winner for much of the race, run down in the end after being last off the bridle and leading briefly inside the last, leaving the impression his stamina might have been compromised in the last 100 yds; it could be that 8f will prove his optimum, the only time he's run to the line beyond that trip having been off a false gallop at Newbury. KIRKLEES (IRE), a Group 1 winner (in Italy) at 2 yrs, showed very smart form in 2 unbeaten starts last season, beating Ordinance Row in a listed event on the second occasion, when looking the type who would go on to further pattern success, and he's clearly returned as good as ever from his latest absence, leaving the impression he'll come on for this, if anything, having seemed rusty under pressure, though it's also possible 10f suits him better now, rallying after the fourth had gone past him initially. SAHPRESA (USA) looks the type who'll do well in fillies' pattern races next year, her career just 2½ months old, yet she's already won a listed event at home in France and raised her game again faced with this test, not asked to lead as she had last time, but showing versatility in coming with a sustained effort from well back; she's bred to stay 10f. TRANQUIL TIGER is incredibly versatile, dropped further in trip here, though with it he's fully exposed; he was again ridden positively, as he'll need to be with such a test, passed just inside the last 1f and wilting in the final 100 yds. MAWATHEEQ (USA) didn't cope with the hike in grade little over 2 months into his career, able just to hold his place, though he should still establish himself in pattern company in time, his being pitched in at this stage significant, and he was again backed with confidence. GENERAL ELIOTT (IRE)'s failure to match his Joel form didn't seem trip related, this possibly coming too soon given his absence prior to that, the principals running away from him before the extra 1f. DRUMFIRE (IRE) has it to do in all but the weakest races at pattern level, though his failure to show his form shouldn't be dwelled on, losing his place when hampered 3f in. STUBBS ART (IRE) didn't take to blinkers, free initially and awkward when first put under pressure. YADDREE has run well in good-quality handicaps throughout the season and left the impression this was one race too many as he faded well over 2f out. FANJURA (IRE) has been unable to get competitive in 2 pattern races since an absence, though showed signs of being in form this time, the grade simply too much. THIRD SET (IRE) had conditions back in his favour and the stable is flying, but that proved irrelevant as he refused to apply himself.
