A maiden in which the 2 with form dominated the market, the second favourite doing so in the finish as his rival flopped, though others showed some potential for down the line, acknowledging a steady gallop means the form isn't entirely reliable. AFRICAN CHEETAH confirmed previous promise as he made the most of an easy opportunity, the longer trip well within his range, likely in his favour after he'd shown a tendency to race lazily, as such driven right out as he was clear through the last 2f; there's better still to come when he puts his mind to it. TAARAB's fairly useful debut second on soft ground last backend is solid, standing up through several others, but he looked a shadow of that colt returning, moving on easily early in the straight but soon floundering when tackled, having to work to hold off the third; he's bred to stay 10f. JOHNNY ROCKET (IRE) (€20,000F, 15,000Y Viking Ruler half-brother to 2-y-o 5f winners Oceanico Dot Com and Ten Downing Street, later successful at 6f/6.5f in US; dam unraced) made a better fist of things than he had in a bumper back in March, the shorter trip likely a help given his pedigree, and progress may come, going on from mid-field. ALDAADO (IRE) offered more than first time, the longer trip likely a help, encountering a falsely-run race but promising better still if anything under an easier ride than the 3 who beat him. EBORBRAV had been tailed off at 2 yrs and likely achieved little of worth here, losing ground in the last 2f after being allowed to dictate.
