Race Pass & Horse Search problems

Q Why does Timeform use pop-up windows on its site?
A We use pop-up windows to build extra functionality into the Horse Search and Race Insights. Customers can open multiple pop-up windows so on-screen comparisons can be made between selected horses, without the need for printing the information. Pop-up windows remain the best way of maintaining this facility within our site.

Q Why am I having problems with pop-up windows?
A Regrettably, some web sites have abused pop-up windows, and as a result it has become commonplace for internet users to block their display. timeform.com is just one of many web sites that uses pop-up windows for legitimate reasons.

While using Race Pass or Horse Search you may find that once you have clicked on the correct link nothing is displayed. This happens because, even though the correct data has been sent, software on your computer is preventing the pop-up appearing.

Q What software can cause this?
A There is a wide range of software that is known to block pop-up windows, the most common ones being:

Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2
adds a pop-up blocking component to Internet Explorer, which is enabled.
Internet Toolbars
Several companies offer toolbars that can be installed into Internet Explorer and provide this function. Among the most common are the Google Toolbar and the Yahoo! Toolbar.
Norton Internet Security/Norton Personal Firewall
Norton, and other firewall, Internet Security & Privacy software such as McAfee Privacy Control, will also block pop-up windows. Please check the documentation that came with your software.
AOL Version 8.0 upwards
Installs a pop-up blocker into Internet Explorer via AOL toolbar.
Q How can I fix this?
A This depends entirely upon the software that is installed on your computer. Software that blocks pop-up windows can normally be configured so that this function is disabled. However, the way in which you must configure the software varies. We recommend you consult the documentation you received with your software. Alternatively below are some links that detail how to configure the most commonly known pop-up blockers. Some of the links are guides for configuring software with specific web sites, please substitute timeform.com when the guide refers to their web site.
